Welcome to one of the fastest growing areas of extracurricular life at Wolverhampton Grammar School. A great many of our students have already enjoyed the strange delights of diving into foaming Welsh rivers, grappling with bold rock climbs, camping out in the wilds and trekking up remote foreign mountains. We even have our own climbing wall and orienteering course in the school grounds.
At WGS we understand that adventure sport can be very exciting and provides a uniquely rewarding experience for all involved. Tackling rugged Himalayan Mountains or exploring the subterranean deeps of Welsh cave systems, both things we have done, lead to improvement of health and fitness, team working ability and confidence. We believe that the outdoor activities offered at WGS are challenging, exciting and have clear benefits for our students when they get back home (and back to school too). The programme of outdoor activities that we deliver has been formulated carefully with safety as the primary concern and all students have the opportunity to participate in many different activities ranging from climbing wall or indoor skiing visits in games lessons, to Duke of Edinburgh camps and distant overseas mountaineering expeditions. When it come to adventure, we will help you get the skills you need, and take you as far as your imagination allows.
