Dynamic Learning Environment

Environment

We believe passionately that, if boys and girls are really to be given the best opportunities to learn and grow, they must do so with the best possible teachers, facilities and resources.

Environment

Since independence the school has spent many millions of pounds on new buildings and on refurbishing and upgrading the older buildings. Providing these is a never-ending process. Even when we are not putting up a new building, you’ll find us hard at work, for example, extending the computer network into every teaching room in the school (a process completed in 2004) and then rolling out ever more computers, interactive whiteboards and digital projectors and constantly upgrading the speed and accessibility of the network (12MB in 2004, and email for every student since 2003).

The keen-eyed will also have noticed the extent to which, building by building, we are rendering the school very much more accessible and friendly to the disabled. Our most important resource is, however, our teaching staff. Entirely graduate, and all specialists in their own subjects, they have the energy and dynamism to engage students through their enthusiasm and expertise. They are constantly looking for interesting and innovative ways to make learning more effective. Day after day they challenge students to deepen their understanding and to see learning as fun, even when things seem difficult or nearly impossible. Their awareness that different students learn in different ways is key to success both in the classroom and beyond. Most important of all - it works!
