WGS aims to be an open, transparent and supportive community with young people, their development and their welfare at the heart of its mission and purpose. A functioning community needs to ensure that everyone is clear about what is involved in being part of it – not just when things are going right but also when they go wrong. This handbook states the school’s educational vision or Philosophy and makes clear to students and their parents what WGS expects of them, what it aims to do for them and what help is available. Most of the text is therefore addressed to students, but there are significant and important sections (and details of support) for parents, teachers and other adults too.
