Wolverhampton Grammar School held a non-uniform day last week to raise money for WaterAid.
Each student and teacher each paid £2 to dress up as a Halloween character, these included Wolves, Cats, Witches, Skeletons and more. The final total raised is expected to be in excess of £1100.
WaterAid’s mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. These basic human rights underpin health, education and livelihoods and form the first, essential step in overcoming poverty. WaterAid work with local partners, who understand local issues, and provide them with the skills and support to help communities set up and manage practical and sustainable projects that meet their real needs.
Head Dr Bernard Trafford commented, “The students embrace these events and it reflects on how committed they are to school life both academically and socially. It’s a fun day that benefits a very worthy charity.”
